Packing China

If youre moving to a new place, youll probably have to pack some china dishes and bring them with you. China is very sensitive and the slightest impact can let these pieces break into pieces. This why you need to make sure that you pack each one of them securely. It is easy to think that all youll need is to carefully handle that box or whatever container youve decided on using. But because of the natural handling wear and tear, it can be unavoidable that your container will have to clash with another container, especially during transit. So your main concern should be to ensure that even when there is impact brought upon your china, it will survive without breakage.

Pack your china in a way that reduces the possible damage it may go through. Use bubble wraps then for even the smallest piece so that if there is any force exerted against the package, the items inside will not bump against each other and cause breakage. You can reduce this risk with individual bubble wraps.

Once you have packed those items individually, its time to secure them as one package. Initially, youll need to find a good place for them. This can be a cardboard box or anything that is durable enough for your china to be well-contained. One thing youd like to remember when getting a box is that the bigger your box is, the lower on the stacks it will probably end up. The more things stacked above your china, the greater the risk for breakage. You can avert this if you use a container that will let it be piled on the top of the stacks during the cargo process.

It is important that you provide the right base that provides the right cushioning for your stuff. The law of physics will have all the items in that box gravitating towards the bottom, and the same is true for all boxes or packages in the stack where yours will be as it is transported in a truck or van. One portion of your package that needs more amount of cushioning should be at the base. Make the sides and even the empty spaces in between your packed china stuffed. This is to keep the individual pieces against each other.

You can use corrugated boxes for packing your china, but cheap doesnt have to mean substandard quality. Get the best cheap but durable reclosable poly bags for your china and let it be safe throughout the way.
